Swisshelicopter SKYe SH09 Specs, Interior, and Price – SKYe SH09 is a new generation multi-role helicopter designed and developed by Marenco Swisshelicopter. This helicopter was inaugurated during the Heli Expo 2011 which was held in Florida, United States. The helicopter prototype was launched in November 2013 and made its first flight on 2 October 2014. Helicopter production began at the end of 2015.
The SKYe SH09 helicopter can be used in a variety of missions including law enforcement, search and rescue (SAR), observation, surveillance, and other police missions. It can also be used in passenger transportation, medical evacuation (MEDEVAC), emergency medical services (EMS), fire fighting, utilities, cargo / external transportation, and flight training / operating instructions.
In June 2013, Marenco Swisshelicopter selected Donaldson Aerospace & Defense, a division of Donaldson Company, to provide a fuel filtering system for the SKYe SH09 helicopter.
The SKYe SH09 helicopter propulsion system includes a non-bearing five-bladed main rotor with an all-composite material and a 1.2 m diameter tail rotor. This rotor system offers high maneuverability. The helicopter also features a tubular skid landing gear.
The helicopter has a standard empty weight of around 1,300 kg, the added sling load capacity is 1,500 kg and the maximum take-off weight is 2,650 kg.
The SKYe SH09 helicopter can fly at a cruising speed of 270 km / hour. It can reach a distance of more than 800 km with a standard fuel tank, and can operate in hot and high conditions.
The front of the cabin is equipped with sliding doors on both sides and large windows for vertical reference and greater visibility. It was equipped with a large door shell on the back to facilitate increased accessibility.
The SKYe SH09 helicopter cockpit can be optionally installed with a traffic awareness system display interface, storm scope, data recording capabilities, and improved fuel management functions. This is in accordance with satellite-based navigation, communication and surveillance requirements.

The SKYe SH09 helicopter is powered by the Honeywell HTS-900-2 turboshaft engine which produces 998 shp of takeoff and a maximum continuous power of 891 shp. This engine is equipped with an advanced dual channel FADEC (Authority Full Digital Engine) system, single crystal turbine blades and effusion-cooled combustion chambers.
