Mil Mi-24P-1M Specs, Engine, Cockpit, and Price – Mil Mi-24P-1M is a twin-engine modern military transport helicopter/ combat helicopter designed by Mil Moscow, a subsidiary of Russian Helicopter. This helicopter is designed to destroy enemy targets such as armored vehicles and fortifications as well as low airplanes, while providing support fire to ground troops.

The Mi-24P-1M helicopter was developed based on the Mi-24P (Hind-F) helicopter platform that has been operating with the Russian Armed Forces since 1976. This new version offers superior firepower and better defense capability in modern battlefield scenarios. The Mi-24P-1M was launched at the MAKS 2019 international air show held in Zhukovsky in August 2019. Meanwhile, helicopter flight tests will be conducted between 2019 and 2020.

The Mi-24P-1M helicopter has a cargo compartment with a length of 2.5 m, width 1.45 m, and height 1.2 m. The helicopter propulsion system includes a five-bladed main rotor and a three-bladed tail rotor. The Mi-24P-1M helicopter can be configured to transport personnel armed with weapons or up to three wounded fighters from the battlefield. This helicopter can carry up to 2,400 kg of cargo on an external hardpoint and 1,500 kg in its cabin. The helicopter has a maximum take-off weight of 11,500 kg.

The basic version of the Mi-24P-1M helicopter is powered by two TV3-117VMA turboshaft engines. The helicopter can fly with a maximum speed of 324 km / h and a cruising speed of 280 km / h. The helicopter has a 4,500 m service ceiling and a maximum operating range of 1,050 km.

The Mi-24P-1M cockpit can hold 2 crew members in a tandem configuration. The fully digital front and rear cockpit is equipped with a large color liquid crystal display (LCD) and head-up display with a wide field of view to enhance pilot safety.

The Mi-24P-1M avionics helicopter suite includes a new mission computer, digital flight simulator, new generation electronics, and secure communications installed to improve mission performance and combat endurance.

The Mi-24P-1M helicopter is equipped with an advanced autopilot system and navigation system that provides integrated aerobatic flight control, while reducing pilot workload. Autopilot also allows helicopters to take off and land automatically.

The OPS-24N-1L electro-optical sighting system under the nose of the helicopter can search, track and find targets day and night in difficult weather conditions. It features a high-quality TV camera, thermal imaging, and laser rangefinder. Modern multi-spectral threat and threat analysis systems are also installed under the fuselage to deal with enemy threats.

The Mi-24P-1M helicopter can carry new self-protection equipment and can be optionally equipped with an active electronically scanned array (AESA) at the front of the fuselage under the front cockpit, to locate and track targets.

The Mi-24P-1M helicopter can carry a variety of modern weapons at six external hard points. It is armed with laser-guided missiles such as 9M123 Khrizantema. This missile offers superior lethal capability against main battle tanks (MBT) and low-flying air targets.
